Rockland Police say a patron at a local pub jumped, rather than fell, from a deck.

Originally, police believed the 31-year-old Old Town man had fallen from the deck on the Time Out Pub just after midnight on Sunday. He was taken to a hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

But WABI-TV reports, after police interviewed witnesses, they now say it appears the man actually jumped, rather than fell, from the deck. Witnesses say he was intoxicated and didn't appear to be trying to harm himself.

Police continue to investigate but no criminal charges are expected.

A 25-year-old man was killed nearly three years ago in a fall from the same deck.
