An accident that slowed traffic on the Bar Harbor Road in Trenton Wednesday morning was caused by a medical issue.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says it was around 8:45 when a Buick Sedan, driven by 59-year-old Ashot Tadevosyan crossed the center line and struck the rear driver quarter panel of an oncoming vehicle. Tadevosyan's car then crossed back over the center line and hit the southbound guardrail before driving back into the oncoming lane and striking an Audi SUV head-on. The Bangor man's car then went off the road on the Northbound side.

Ashot suffered minor injuries in the crash, but was having a medical issue at the time. The occupants of the other two vehicles were not hurt. Everyone involved in the crash were wearing their seatbelts.

Police kept one lane of traffic moving while they investigated the accident.
