Police Say A Waterboro Couple Died In A Murder-Suicide
State Police say a Waterboro man killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.
Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the bodies of Christal and Christopher Denis, both 45-years-old, were found in their home at 620 New Dam Road just before 8 o'clock Saturday night. York County Deputies had been asked by relatives of the couple to check on them.
Police say Denis shot his wife with a shotgun and then turned the gun on himself. Both bodies were found in the living room of the home. Police and Sheriff's office personnel worked into the early morning hours, collecting evidence and conducting interviews, and say the case is being considered a domestic violence murder-suicide.
Autopsies will be conducted today at the State Medical Examiner's Office. McCausland says the couple worked for Deer Pond Fuel in North Waterboro. According to the company's website, Christal and Christopher co-owned the business.
