Police Looking For Pickup Involved In Hit and Run
State Police are asking for the public's help locating a pickup truck that was involved in a hit and run accident in Masardis over the weekend.
The accident happened Saturday on State Route 11 in Masardis. Murray Gorham of Oxbow was using his cell phone while sitting in his SUV, which was stopped on the shoulder of the road. A pickup approached Gorham's vehicle from behind and crashed into the driver's side rear end. The pickup then crossed the center line, into the path of oncoming traffic, nearly hitting another vehicle, before driving off. Neither Murray nor his passenger where hurt in the accident.
State Police are trying to find the vehicle, which is suspected to be a 2000 to 2014 red GMC or Chevrolet pickup truck. They say it's most likely in the Oxbow, Masardis, or Ashland area. The vehicle would have sustained major damage to the right front side of the truck.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Trooper Ryan Kilcollins at (207) 532-5400. Callers can remain anonymous.
