Police Investigating a Weekend Death on Vinalhaven [UPDATE]

Police have released the identity of a man whose death on Vinalhaven is being investigated.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the deceased is 28-year-old Roger Feltis, who moved to the island a few months ago from Waldoboro. State Police detectives, along with members of the Knox County Sheriff's office continue to investigate the death which took place at a house on Roberts Cemetery Road.

Officials were called to the island just before 10 Sunday night, to a report of a man and woman, both of whom were injured. The woman was taken to PenBay Medical Center in Rockport, where she was treated and released.

The man's body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. So far, police have not commented on how the man died.
