Police say the death of a Richmond man, whose body was found on Friday, is considered suspicious.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 48-year-old Andrew Sherman was found dead inside is home at 7 Kimball Street on Friday afternoon. One of the victim's friends found him at around 5 p.m. when they went to check on him. Police say Sherman had not been seen or heard from in several days. His body was taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office, where an autopsy was performed on Sunday. No details about cause of death have been released. Police say Sherman lived alone in the house and had not worked in recent years because of injuries from a car accident.

This investigation is ongoing, with police working out of the Richmond Fire Department. Anyone who has either seen or heard from Sherman in the past week is asked to contact authorities, either by dropping by the fire department, or by calling State Police in Augusta at 624-7076, extension 9.
