A Palmyra man is facing multiple charges after allegedly forcing a man to disrobe before robbing him.

Where Did This Happen?

Dustin Smith was arrested on Wednesday at his place of work for an incident that police say happened on Sunday. Winslow Police received a report of an armed robbery just after 6:00 Sunday afternoon on Abbott Road. The suspects had fled in a vehicle before officers arrived on the scene.

What Happened?

Chief Leonard Macdaid says the victim, suspect, and an unnamed female all arrived at the crime scene together. At some point, Smith allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and told him to get out of the car. The victim did as he was told and was then allegedly instructed to take off all his clothes. Smith then allegedly fired a gun and assaulted the victim, causing facial injuries. Police say he allegedly robbed the victim, leaving the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was transported to Inland Hospital in Waterville for his injuries. He was treated and released that same night.

What are the Charges Against Smith?

  • Theft
  • Reckless conduct
