A day-long standoff in Orrington is over and three people have been taken into custody.

Arrested in the incident were 33-year-old Stephen Nason and 37-year-old Rochelle Gleason, both from Orrington, and 33-year-old Jason Ashe of Glenburn. The home belongs to Nason's mother, who wasn't home at the time.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the incident started with a female visitor to the home, who called police after leaving the residence and told them she had been robbed. When State Police Troopers arrived at the house at 592 Johnson Mill Road, none of the occupants would leave the home.

A State Police tactical team with negotiators were called in to resolve the standoff that lasted just under 12 hours. A cooling tent was brought to the scene by the Eddington Fire Department, to assist troopers with the oppressive heat.

Nason and Gleason are charged with robbery and aggravated assault. Ashe was charged with violating his bail conditions. All three suspects were taken to the Penobscot County Jail. The standoff ended just after 7:00 Saturday evening.
