Former Old Town Man Turns 100 [PHOTOS]
You may remember Paul Dumont, who lived in Old Town and Milford for many years. He worked at the Old Town Post Office.
He now lives in Arizona and Just celebrated his 100th Birthday.
His secret to such a long life may well be family and friends. That and he has a close friend who he spends a lot of time with at the facility where he lives. Yes, it is a woman. And yes, she is much younger than he is.
Of course, she’s younger. For the record, she is only 86.
His daughter Roxanne Hayes is still in Maine and came up with an idea that this would be a great occasion to have old friends or those who remembered him reach out with a birthday card. Thanks to the many who did. If you are still inspired, the address is at the end of the article.
What do you get a man turning 100? A card with a memory or a connection to jog his memory from his days in Old Town and Milford.
That and cake. Numerous cakes.
Paul's son Pierre says they play card games a few times every week, and, yes, Dad mostly wins. He is doing very well and his mind is still very sharp.
Paul Dumont is a veteran. He was a pilot in the Air Force.
And he served in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam war. That is amazing, and even those who don’t have any connection can certainly thank him for his service.
The family held a 2-day celebration to mark Paul Dumont’s 100th Birthday which was March 3rd in Arizona with many family members and friends heading to the celebrations.
