A North Carolina man will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the shooting death of a Millinocket man.

Tony Locklear and his daughter were sentenced this week for their role in the shooting death of Wayne Lapierre of Millinocket. They were two of three people accused in the home invasion.

WABI-TV reports Alexis Locklear, 22, was sentenced to one year in jail, and was given credit for time served. Her father, 44-year-old Tony Locklear, was sentenced to life in prison for charges of murder, elevated aggravated assault, and robbery. Both addressed the court, with Tony Locklear stating that he has murdered in other states, as well, and it's time that he got his due.

Police say the Locklears, along with Alexis's boyfriend Christopher Murray, 39, went to the Lapierre home in December of 2017, intending to buy marijuana and steal money from the couple. Wayne Lapierre was legally licensed to grow marijuana.
