
Maine Authorities Identify the Victim of a Newburgh Crash
Officials have released the identity of the victim of a fatal collision between a sports car and a tractor-trailer in Newburgh.
Newburgh, Maine Fatal Crash Kills Searsmont Man and His Dog
Peter Williams, 66, of Searsmont died in the crash, along with his dog. They were both in Mr. Williams' 2014 Porsche sedan when it collided with a Volvo tractor-trailer Wednesday on Route 69, near the intersection with Route 202.
Mr. Williams was declared deceased at the scene of the crash. His dog died while being transported to a local veterinarian.
Aaron Flagg, 43, of Albion, was assessed for injuries but was not transported. He was driving the tractor-trailer that caused damage to a garage and a yard when the truck left the road.

Newburgh, Maine Crash Cause Confirmed By Video Recording of the Incident
The Penobscot County Sheriff's Office says a preliminary investigation indicated that the sports car had crossed the centerline as it navigated a curve in the road and drove into the travel path of the tractor-trailer, which was loaded with junk metal.

Officials now say that a video recovered from one of the vehicles involved in the crash confirms those findings.
Newburgh, Maine Crash Closed Route 69 for Several Hours
Route 69 in Newburgh was shut down for several hours while officials reconstructed the crash and cleared the scene.
