New York Murder Suspect Arrested In Augusta
A New York woman, wanted in connection with a murder in that state, was arrested last week in Maine.
Augusta Police say 47-year-old Yashonia Michele Davis, who's also known as Michelle Davis and Monique MacFaline, is being held at the Kennebec County Jail. She and 29-year-old Edward Evans were wanted by police in New York in connection with the death of Abraham Caraballo, age 52, of Bronx Park South. Caraballo died at the hospital on May 8th after being found unconscious in a hallway in April with a laceration and trauma to his head. A 57-year-old woman, who was also found with similar injuries, survived the attack.
Augusta Police had learned that the pair was believed to be in Maine and arrested Davis during a traffic stop on May 30th on Pierce Drive. She's charged with 2nd degree murder in the second degree and first degree manslaughter. Davis contested extradition back to New York on Friday and is now awaiting a new court date on June 26th.
