When Washington County Deputies responded to a 911 call, they found an unconscious female and arrested a New York man on drug charges.

Why Was 911 Called?

The 911 call was received shortly after 8:00 Wednesday night from an East Side Road home in Addison. The male caller told authorities that shots were being fired and that people were actively trying to hurt him. Washington County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the scene and set up a perimeter around the house. They were able to convince a man to exit the home, who was later identified as Andres Rivera, 40, of Lynbrook, New York. Further investigation revealed that Rivera was the one who made the emergency call.

Was Anyone Else in the House?

During their conversation with Mr. Rivera, deputies became concerned about the well-being of a person who was still inside the residence. Upon entering the building, they found an unresponsive female and administered several doses of Narcan before transporting her to a local hospital by ambulance. There's no information about her condition.

After obtaining a search warrant, the deputies were joined by agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement's Downeast Task Force in searching the residence. Seized as a result of that search were two loaded 9mm handguns, suspected fentanyl and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $3,500, and $1,700 in suspected drug proceeds.

What Charges Does Rivera Face?

Rivera was arrested on the following charges:

  • Aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs (fentanyl and cocaine)
  • Filing a false report (related to the report of shots being fired)

He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
