The driver of a motorcycle that crashed in Madison, injuring his passenger, is charged with operating under the influence.

Somerset County Sheriff's deputies told WABI-TV that 59-year-old George Chestnut of Madison lost control of his bike at around 11:30 Monday night on Nichols Street. It struck a curb, throwing both Chestnut and his passenger, 49-year-old Crystal Drbal from the motorcycle. Neither of them was wearing a helmet.

Drbal was taken to the hospital with a severe head injury. Chestnut wasn't hurt in the crash, but was charged with OUI.

The accident remains under investigation.
