I'm not making this up. Here's the survey. You know how they say "Only in Maine." Well, hold my beer or hot toddy. When asked in every state in America what their favorite Christmas Dinner Recipe was, most said cranberry sauce, or stuffing, or mashed potatoes, or roasted potatoes, or green bean casserole, or maybe even Christmas turkey. Or Roast Beef. Or a Christmas Ham. And depending on the state, those were some of the most popular answers. Lots of regionalism, as expected.

However one state when asked What's your favorite Christmas Dinner Recipe did not answer with a traditional Christmas food. The answer given was Hot Toddy. Can you guess the state? That's right. Maine. Ding Ding Ding. We have our winner. Hot Toddy is number one. The survey doesn't mention if that Hot Toddy has whiskey, or bourbon, or rum, or brandy. But Hot Toddy is number one. In my books, it's a mixed drink not a recipe, but I didn't get asked to participate in the survey. Plus I'm not a party pooper.
