It was a dangerous weekend for motorcyclists, with crashes in several communities that left one man dead and multiple people injured.

Just after 11:00 Friday night, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office responded to a motorcycle accident in Standish. Deputies found the driver of the motorcycle in a cluster of trees on the side of the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released the man's name but say that he was wearing a helmet.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded to a head-on motorcycle accident on Route 16 in Dallas Plantation, just outside of Rangeley Saturday afternoon. It was about 1:30 when a motorcycle driven by 45-year-old Jill Cayford of Anson crossed the centerline and hit another motorcycle head-on. WABI-TV reports Cayford had serious injuries and was flown by LifeFlight to Central Maine Medical Center. The second motorcycle was operated by Gregory and Katherine Mochi of Massachusetts. Katherine was also flown to the hospital with critical injuries.

Maine State Police are asking for the public's help determining the details behind a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon in China. Troopers were called to Route 3 in China where they found a motorcyclist who was seriously injured. The biker was LifeFlighted to CMMC. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Trooper Donald Webber at (207) 624-7076. The rider's name has not been released.

All of these accidents remain under investigation.
