Stefanie Damron's disappearance from New Sweden, Maine, is featured on the Nancy Grace Crime Stories podcast.

Maine Police and the FBI are Investigating the Disappearance of a New Sweden Teen

It's a case that has baffled local and federal authorities for more than a year.

Stefanie Damron went missing on September 23, 2024, at the age of 13. Her family told the police that Stefanie and her sister had argued about doing chores and that an angry Stefanie had walked into the woods near her home.

She hasn't been seen since.

FBI Offers a Reward for Info About Missing Maine Teen

Because of New Sweden's proximity to the Canadian border, the FBI got involved in the investigation almost immediately, concerned that she may have been taken across state or even international lines.

When search and cadaver dogs were unable to find any sign of the missing teen, the FBI offered up to $15,000 in reward money for information leading to her return to her family.

Maine Case of Missing Teen Stefanie Damron Gets National Media Attention

The case had already gained national attention on the TV show, America's Most Wanted: Missing Persons.

And just before Christmas, national podcaster Nancy Grace featured Stefanie's story on her 'Crime Stories' podcast.

Her coverage reveals some interesting details, like the fact that Stefanie and her sister lived in a yurt with their 'grandfather,' who was actually no blood relative to them.

Grace reveals the yurt has no running water or indoor plumbing, and limited electricity provided by a generator.

The rest of the family lives in a trailer down the road from the yurt.

While there are still no answers, this podcast raises some interesting questions about Stefanie's life before her disappearance.

Anyone with information about Stefanie's whereabouts is urged to contact the Maine State Police at 1-800-824-2261 or the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. (1-800-225-5324)
