Bangor, Maine Drug Bust Leads To Arrests of 3 from New York, New Jersey

Bangor Police and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested three suspects on drug trafficking charges after allegedly observing transactions downtown.

Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the suspects are all from out of state.

Diany Garcia, 38, of Patterson, New Jersey, is charged with trafficking in Schedule W drugs. (cocaine base)
Arismendi Acosta, 27, of Patterson, New Jersey, is charged with aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs. (cocaine base)
Jeremy Rodriguez, 30, of Bronx, New York, is charged with aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs. (cocaine base)

Both Acosta and Rodriguez had prior drug convictions, elevating their charges to aggravated trafficking.

Slips of Paper Handed Out in Downtown Bangor, Maine Lead Police to Drug Suspects.

During an investigation into drug sales in Bangor, three males were observed handing out pieces of paper to people in a downtown park, and conducting alleged drug transactions.

Those slips of paper, agents would learn, contained a phone number utilized for the sale of drugs.

Officials say at least one non-fatal overdose in the area was directly attributed to the group.

An undercover agent used the phone number to arrange a controlled purchase of cocaine base (crack) from Garcia. Shortly thereafter, Garcia was taken into custody.
