Maine Became The 23rd State March 15th, 1820 [PHOTOS]
Cake!!! Our state is 203 today.
Maine became the 23rd state March 15th, 1820.
The only state with only one syllable. And the only state that borders only one other state.
But Maine is so much more than that.
As if we needed reminders to be grateful, here are a few and just a few today
Not every state has creative signs along the interstates. Congrats to Maine DOT for keeping informed, and for doing it with humor
Old Flag. New Flag. It doesn't matter. Both are great examples of our state
We are all probably immune, but pine trees smell great. And what state has more pine trees than Maine?
Nothing like a walk amongst the trees. Thousands of places just like this to do just that and appreciate where we live
And for those that like to do something more energetic than walk.
It sure is something to look at from this angle too
Is there a more scenic coastline? And so much is easily accessed.
Here's the official bird of Maine, this chickadee is celebrating today too.
Our state is famous around the entire world for lobster. And no wonder.
And so many places to just love the view
Also known for the best blueberries anywhere too
And where else you going to get whoopie pies
And most Mainers make the most out of winter, and we do get winter in Maine
Maine also has some very popular tourist attractions, especially for people from away
And some great movies based in the state, that came from the writing of our most famous author.
Aren't we lucky to be here 24/7 365.
Happy Birthday Maine. Glad to call you home.
