Police Found Abbott Deceased And A Man With a Head Injury
Servil was 19-years-old when the murder took place. Skowhegan Police received a 911 call just after 5:30 on a July morning from a man who reported an assault at 912 Canaan Road. Responding officers found a Madison man suffering from a head injury who said that he had stayed overnight with Abbott, who lived at the address with her parents. The man was transported to Reddington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, where he was treated and released.
Abbott was found deceased on the property and Servil was arrested later that day. An autopsy determined that she had been stabbed multiple times and died of blood loss. Servil was charged with intentional or knowing depraved murder and aggravated assault.
The Victim's Family Tried to Assault Servil During Sentencing
A melee broke out at the sentencing on Friday. According to the Sun Journal, at one point in the hearing, Servil's attorney asked to approach the bench. When he left Servil's side, Abbott's brother, Clifford Warren, jumped from his seat in the gallery and over a railing to attack his sister's murderer. He was stopped by a court officer who deployed a stun gun. Other members of her family shouted at the defendant and also tried to reach him, but were stopped by members of the court.
