A Maine based TV show visited Fort Knox in Prospect for their Halloween special. While the scares are paused this year, Fright At The Fort organizers are already prepping for 2021.

Maine Life was on a quest for spooks in a recent episode. The cast visited Fort Knox to get an abbreviated look at the Fright At The Fort experience. This year is the first time the annual Halloween event has been canceled since it began 20 years ago. The cancelation was announced back in September, saying in a Facebook post: "A result of its own success, we know we cannot safely entertain even half of the usual 2,000-3,000 guests per night under Covid-19 precautions."

Still, the Maine Life crew wanted to get a taste for what the annual spooky attraction dishes out every year. Executive Director of Fort Knox, Dean Martin, says Fright 2021 will be bigger and scarier than ever before. Organizers will be looking for volunteers to be jump scares, spooks, makeup artists, sound/light technicians, puppeteers, prop builders and set designers in late August 2021.

The three weekend event is Fort Knox's biggest annual fundraiser. Roughly 10,000 visitors visit the spooky attraction each year. The 2018 Stephen King theme brought in a record setting 15,050 visitors over the five Fright nights.

Fort Knox will host a night of ghost hunting on Halloween. The night of ghost hunting is guided by 207 Paranormal. Paranormal investigators will guide participants to the fort's ghostly hot spots, and provide all the ghost hunting equipment. The event completely sold-out shortly after tickets went on-sale earlier this month.
