Get ready for a full day of fun in Bucksport!

Coming up on Saturday, May 6th, from 10am–12:30pm, it's the Annual 2023 Bridge the Gap Race in Bucksport.

Since 2012, Bridge the Gap has quickly gained popularity as one of Eastern Maine's rites of spring!

There are two races that start at the same time, at Fort Knox in Prospect, and across the stunning Penobscot Narrows Bridge. The 10-Miler tours Verona Island from west to east, while the 3-Miler follows the scenic river walk. Both races finish on Main Street in the heart of downtown Bucksport.

Crow Athletics has partnered with Main Street Bucksport to help bring this race to the community. They encourage all runners and their friends/family to explore the fun downtown businesses and restaurants, so you can make a whole day of it!

The first 500 registered participants will receive a fitted short-sleeve race shirt and commemorative race bag. Shirts are per-ordered and sizes are limited. Sign up early for best selection.

And don't forget the afterparty!

From 10:45am–3pm, check out the Bridge the Gap Finish Line Festival, on Elm Street. You can run, walk, or roll to the Inaugural Bridge the Gap Finish Line Festival.

Stuff your face with lobster rolls from the world-famous the High Roller Lobster Co., and party with Queen City Sound System, who will be spinning tune sof ryou to dance to.

The Penobscot Bridge and Penobscot Narrows Observatory, is one of the coolest experiences you can have in the state of Maine. It is the first bridge observation tower in the United States and the tallest public bridge observatory in the entire world.

The tower reaches 420 feet into the air and allows visitors to view the bridge, the nearby Fort Knox State Historic Site, the Penobscot River, and Bay, with spectacular, mind-blowing 360-degree views. In fact, believe it or not, it is taller than the Statue of Liberty!

The PNO is the tallest bridge observatory open to the public in the world. Visitors to the observatoryalso ride Maine's fastest elevator all the way to the top.
