
Maine Woman Rescued from Alleged Kidnapper by Signaling Police
A Maine woman was saved from a dangerous situation by silently signaling a nearby police officer.
Hallowell, Maine, Man Allegedly Kidnapped a Woman
Hallowell Police say a local man is facing charges in connection with this incident.
Scott Palmer, 51, of Hallowell, is charged with:
- Kidnapping
- Criminal Restraint
- Assault.
At the time of this arrest, Palmer was already on probation for gross sexual assault.
Maine Woman Says Man on Probation for Sexual Assault Allegedly Kidnapped Her
The charges stem from the alleged kidnapping of a woman in Hallowell.
WGME-TV reports the woman told the police that the man had forced her to stay in the vehicle while he drove around the area.

She says the 51-year-old allegedly tried to get her to exit the vehicle and go into the woods for sex.
Maine Woman Saved from Alleged Kidnapping by Mouthing Help to a Cop
By chance, a police officer on patrol came across the vehicle in the parking lot of the Vaughn Woods nature preserve, just before 9 pm, and noticed Palmer inside with a female passenger.

The officer saw the woman turn her head away from Palmer and silently mouth the word "Help' several times.
The officer approached the car and asked both people to step outside.
Once the woman explained to the police officer what was allegedly going on, Palmer was arrested on multiple charges.
He was taken to the Kennebec County Correctional Facility, where his bail was set at $100,000.
