Maine Drug Agents Seize $245K Worth of Fentanyl in Wade
Aroostook County officials have arrested a Wade man after seizing approximately $245,000 worth of fentanyl in his home.
Who Was Arrested?
Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says Daniel White was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into the importation and sale of significant amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl in Aroostook County. The investigation led officials to the tiny town of Wade, which is located just outside Washburn.
Did Officials Find More Than Fentanyl in Their Search?
On Wednesday, November 30th, agents with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency's Aroostook County Task Force executed a search warrant on White's Gardner Creek Road home. Seized during that search were over 2 pounds of suspected fentanyl, 1/2 pound of methamphetamine, over $12,000 in suspected drug proceeds, as well as several firearms. Officials say the estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $245,000.
White was taken into custody and taken to the Somerset County Jail, where he is currently being held on federal drug trafficking charges.
