Landmark Ellsworth Restaurant ‘Will Not Be Opening’ Following Death Of Family Member
The future is uncertain for Jordan's Snack Bar, part of the Ellsworth community for the past 35 years, after the death of 22-year-old Andrew Jordan, the son and grandson of the restaurant's owners.
Following's Andrew's death, the owners of the business, Shawn Jordan and his mother, Carol, announced the restaurant had closed indefinitely.
In an ad that appeared this week in the Ellsworth American, the Jordans said it was time to “let this wonderful community know that Jordan’s Snack Bar will not be opening for business.”
The family also wrote that since the death of Carol’s husband, Jimmy, they had been “tested over the last seven years,” and “it has become too much to carry on the quality and love that we have always tried to serve and give to our customers.”
Last week on Facebook, the restaurant thanked its customers, saying the family wanted to "thank the community of Ellsworth for being so kind, understanding and supportive."
