Maine Goodwill Store Evacuates Because Someone Donated a Grenade
Over the years employees of Goodwill stores have come forth and exposed people for donating some down right ridiculous items. Why someone wouldn't just dispose of some of these items is beyond me. But you know what they say, one man's trash is another man's treasure.
What are the craziest items Goodwill Stores have see throughout the years?
According to a site called Thunderdungeon, com, Goodwill employees have seen everything from cremated ashes, to prosthetic limbs, to taxidermied animals! I feel like I have to ask this question more often than ever but, WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!
However, there is a difference between donating something that is old and disgusting as opposed t something that could potentially harm the store's employees and customers.
Something extremely wacky happened at the Goodwill Store in Augusta, Maine, recently that certainly raised my eyebrows.
According to WGME, Goodwill Northern New England on Senator Way in Augusta was evacuated on Tuesday morning after someone donated what appeared to be a hand grenade.
When something like this happens an abundance of caution must be taken. The store is temporarily closed as a bomb squad will be further assessing the situation.
How often do Goodwill stores see weapons being donated in New England?
The article goes on to explain this is more common in New England than you might think. Many New Englanders collect antique weapons in their homes. It is common practice in Goodwill stores to not accept weaponry as donations even if the original owner knows it is antique and safe, the employees to do not.
