A teenager died in the crash of a side-by-side in Fort Fairfield on Sunday.

Northern Maine Side-by-Side Crash Kills a Teen, Sends a Second to the Hospital

The Maine Warden Service says two 15-year-old males were in the 2026 CF Moto Z Force side-by-side , at the time of the crash.

Their names are not being released, at this time.

It was just before 8:00 pm when the Warden Service says the 15-year-old driver turned hard to the left while accelerating, causing the front of the machine to lift and skid before rolling over and coming to rest.

15-Year-Old Dies in Side-by-Side Crash in Aroostook County, Maine

The 15-year-old passenger passed away at the scene, due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Officials say the driver as transported to Cary Medical Center in Caribou with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger were not wearing helmets or using seatbelts.

This crash remains under investigation.

Maine Wardens Report 2 Fatal Crashes Over the Weekend Involving Off-Road Vehicles

It was the second fatal crash of an off-road vehicle over the weekend.

On Saturday, Bruce Kennedy, 20, of North Berwick died after crashing his ATV in a remote part of Piscataquis County.

He was also not wearing a helmet.
