Morning Crash Along Route 9 In Clifton Slows Traffic Down To One Lane For A While On Wednesday
A snowy, mid-morning crash along a troublesome road in the Penobscot County town of Clifton had traffic moving more slowly than usual on Wednesday.
According to the Eddington Fire Department, the crash involved a large truck and impacted the morning commute for a long while.
"Route 9, Airline Road in Clifton near Parks Pond Campground, is currently down to 1 lane due to a motor vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler. Wreckers will be on scene for a couple of hours dealing with it."
The road was opened back up again several hours later.
We reached out to the Eddington Fire Department to find out the condition of any of the folks involved or what caused the truck to crash, but we have not heard back yet.

It seems that particular stretch of roadway seems to be quite problematic for drivers, with several accidents reported along Route 9 in the Eddington/Clifton area each year.
