
Elizabeth Warren Endorses Graham Platner Over Janet Mills
The senator from Massachusetts has officially backed the oyster farmer over the current governor, who is running for the same Senate seat.
Graham Platner and Governor Janet Mills have emerged as the two leading names in Maine’s Democratic primary race for U.S. Senate this June, setting up a closely watched contest between a progressive newcomer and an established political figure.

On Thursday, March 19th, Senator Elizabeth Warren endorsed Platner over Mills in the Democratic primary to challenge Senator Susan Collins this fall.
Warren has become the fourth senator to back the populist candidate. In a statement shared by Platner’s campaign, Warren said he is a combat veteran and oyster farmer who has inspired people with a platform focused on putting working families first—not billionaires and large corporations.

Continuing her statement, Warren said Graham Platner would fight every day to make life better for Mainers and added that she was proud to endorse him.
Platner called the endorsement an honor, praised Warren as an inspiration, and said he looks forward to working with her to take on Wall Street, monopolies, and corruption in Washington.
