Two people were injured in a crash Monday morning after a tractor-trailer went off the roadway on I-95.

What's Going On?

Maine State Police say the crash happened at around 6:30 Monday morning, near mile marker 174 in Newburgh. A tractor-trailer containing two people ran off the road on the northbound side of the interstate. It went into the median, where the rig hit several trees.

The driver of the tractor-trailer and their passenger were transported to a local hospital. Both people had injuries that officials say are considered non-life-threatening. Police have not released the names of the people in the truck or what caused the truck to leave the roadway.

How Did This Affect Traffic?

Traffic was down to one lane for several hours Monday morning while crews worked to clear the scene.

We'll update this story as more details become available.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.
