Honoring The Life And Music Of Doug Baker

Local musicians are invited to take part in Doug Baker's celebration of life this Saturday in Brewer.

I can't imagine a better way to honor the memory of Doug Baker, who passed away earlier this month, than with a day of music. Doug had been a part of the local Country Music scene for most of his life, and his influence reached far and wide.

His wife Patty decided the best way to remember him was through the medium that was his passion. So between 1 and 5 Saturday afternoon, Mainely Country will provide the music for an afternoon of fellowship and memories. There will be a chance for folks to share their memories of Doug with the group.

And, of course, there will be a chance for local musicians to share their songs. Just sign up at the door and each musician will be allowed two songs. I'll be emceeing the afternoon that promises to be a fitting tribute to a man who will be missed by so many.
