Four people have been arrested in connection with an investigation into the trafficking of heroin in Hancock County.

Maine Drug Enforcement Agents with the Downeast Drug Task Force have been conducting the month-long investigation, with help from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, Ellsworth and State Police. The investigation included the undercover purchase of heroin.

Arrested last night were:

  • Michael Kane, age 31 of Lamoine, who's charged with Class B Unlawful Trafficking of Heroin
  • Alicia Kane, age 29 or Lamoine, who's charged with Class B Unlawful Trafficking of Heroin
  • Jamie Biggs, age 38 of New Britain, Connecticut, who's charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking of Heroin
  • Kimberly Andrews, age 51 of Holden, who's charged with Class E Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs

Drug agents executed a search warrant at the home of Michael and Alicia Kane, at 6 Francis Drive in Lamoine and recovered approximately 51 grams of heroin, with a street value of $15,000. The four people at the residence were arrested and taken to the Hancock County Jail without incident. Bail was set at $10,000 cash for Biggs, $5,000 cash for the Kanes, and $1,000 for Andrews.
