After the snow, and the frigid cold snap, folks are going to be looking for something fun to do outside again this weekend.

And when you can find something the entire family can participate in, that's a bonus these days.

If you're in Pittsfield, Pinnacle Park is a definite spot to hit up Saturday, as there's a day full of family fun planned. And it's all free!

According to one of the event organizers, Lindsay Holstrom (there's a whole team working on this) they're going to have all sorts of fun, for both young and old.

"We are so happy to be able to do it this year and can’t wait to celebrate with the community, the Pinnacle is a true gem!"

As their Facebook Page says, "Please join us for a celebration of the Pinnacle Park. Free Admission! Fun, Food, Games, Magic Show, Face Painting, Skiing, and Skating!"

Holstrom says the event is a collaboration between the town's skating group and ski hill group, which use the Park regularly.

"We will have ice games for skating and prizes. It’s a big carnival theme and we have a magician coming up and [weather permitting] a horse for rides and petting."

There's also "a big free potluck and outdoor hot dog bonfire and s’more pit! Cocoa, clown, face painting and music and cornhole."

Holstrom says in years past, they've had a couple of hundred folks show up, so she expects, if the weather cooperates, for a good turn out Saturday.

"The ski hill is praying we get at least 6 inches of snow so they can ski tomorrow."

Pinnacle Park is located at 271 Waverly St, Pittsfield.

You may remember earlier this winter, when folks had a cocoa fundraiser at the Ice Skating Rink at Pinnacle Park, This time around, the fun is in celebration of all the work folks have put into these facilities.

The warmer weather at the beginning of the week had some folks worried about the conditions of The Skating Rink for this weekend's festivities. But folks have been encouraged to stay off the ice, to maintain the integrity for the Winter Carnival.

Events will take place between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM Saturday.

You can find more details here, at the Pinnaclefest-Winter Carnival Facebook Event Page.
