A 37-year-old female inmate was found unconscious and unresponsive in her cell on Sunday, according to a release from the Penobscot County Jail in Bangor.

Jennifer Dyer of Greenbush had been brought to the jail at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday for two outstanding warrants.

She was found in her cell on at 4:46 a.m. on Sunday, according to authorities. First aid and CPR was provided, and Bangor Rescue was notified. Any and all life saving attempts were unsuccessful, according to jail officials.

This death does not appear to be suspicious, and does not appear to be the result of a criminal act or suicide. This death investigation remains active and the results of the medical examiner’s office are pending.

The Bangor Police Department and sheriff’s office detectives are investigating.
