Police Identify Body As That Of Missing Bar Harbor Woman [UPDATE]
Authorities on Monday identified the body found at the intersection of Route 3 and West Street over the weekend as that of a missing Bar Harbor woman.
Mikaela Conley, 19, reportedly was last seen on Friday near Conners Emerson School. Her family reported her missing to the Bar Harbor Police Department, and a town-wide search ensued.
Her body was discovered a short distance away by a Maine Sate Police canine at about noon on Saturday. The State Medical Examiner's Office identified the body but "additional work remains," according to a police statement in the Portland Press Herald.
State Police are asking to speak with anyone who might have information about the case to call State Police in Bangor at 973-3700.
Conley's family owns the restaurant, 2 Cats Bar Harbor on Cottage Street. The restaurant posted the following message on Facebook:
