You may remember Mike Towle and Melissa Smith from their former night time job, when they used to own the Penobscot Pour House in Bangor. These days, you can find them at their day job as the current owners of Gold's Gym in Bangor. Well, a quick Facebook post from Gold's Gym netted the Orrington Fire-Rescue a sweet deal.

Gold's was looking to upgrade some of their equipment, and were looking for a home for it. The stuff was in great condition, but fitness centers need to keep up with the times too, according to WABI - TV5. It turns out Assistant Fire Chief Chad Bean, saw the post and reached out.

This stuff is not cheap. It's commercial grade equipment. It was exactly what we are looking for. All the stars happened to align.

Melissa Smith, owner of the gym, was more than happy to hook them up. It was a match made in heaven.

We needed to move it out to make room for the new stuff that we are getting, so I just kind of threw it out there, and Chad reached out to me, and we are super happy. It's great equipment and still has a lot of use left in it, so we're very happy that it's going go to a place, and they're going to get some use out of it.

As of right now, the town of Orrington is constructing a new public safety building, so the equipment will hang out in storage til then. But soon enough, you'll see some extra buff Orrington fire fighters out there. Maybe they should do a calendar?!
