Estranged Wife Arrested For Acton Murder
Police say the victim of a homicide in the town of Acton was allegedly killed by his estranged wife.
Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says State Police have arrested 46-year-old Kandee Weyland of Acton in connection with the death of her estranged husband, 42-year-old Scott Weyland. Mrs. Weyland is charged with murder and violation of a protection order and is being held at the York County Jail.
The State Medical Examiner's office is conducting an autopsy to determine how Mr. Weyland died. The Portland Press Herald reports that, when police arrived at the Milton Mills Road home, they found a severely injured man. He was taken to Southern Maine Medical Center where he later died. There's no word on how he was injured, only that he was assaulted outside the residence.
Several witnesses who were at the home when Weyland was wounded have been interviewed by police who continue to investigate the homicide.
