Here’s the definition of a Poker Run from Wikipedia.

A poker run is an organized event in which participants, usually using motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, boats, snowmobiles, horses, on foot or other means of transportation, must visit five to seven checkpoints,  drawing a playing card at each one. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run. Having the best hand and winning is purely a matter of chance. The event has a time limit, however the individual participants are not timed.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the record for the largest event was set in 2009 with 2,136 motorcyclists benefiting the Fallen Firefighter Survivors Foundation (FFSF).

If a Poker run is something you would like to try, there will be a Poker Run to benefit the Pine Tree Camp.

And it will be held on the afternoon of The Q106.5 Egg Ride. Saturday, February 5.

The Pine Tree Camp Poker Run will start at Dysart’s Truck Stop and  Restaurant in Hermon, just like the Egg Ride. Egg Ride begins at 10:30 AM. We’ll be back at Dysart’s for lunch.

At 1 PM, the poker run begins. On your snowmobile or in your car. The Poker Run ends at 3:30 PM.

All the money raised goes towards Pine Tree Camp’s open-door policy. No camper is turned away regardless of their ability to pay the tuition.

Plan to make it a full day, with the 36th Egg Ride in the morning and the 1st Poker Run in the afternoon. And feel good about the funds raised that evening and may the good feeling last.
