Four people are facing charges after drug agents seized more than $100,000 in illegal substances from a Bangor motel.

The arrests were the result of a several-weeks investigation by the Bangor-based North Central Task Force. Agents had been watching a group of individuals who were believed to be trafficking crack cocaine and fentanyl from a room inside a Bangor motel.

Investigators learned this group had returned to Bangor from out of state with what was believed to be roughly a kilogram of crack cocaine and a significant amount of heroin/fentanyl.

Arrested Tuesday night and charged with aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs were:

  • Andre DuJuan Terry Jr, 23, of Ypsilanti, Michigan
  • Ray Lamont Kennedy, 25, of St. Petersburg, Florida
  • Kareem Stokes, 23, of Bangor
  • Danielle Eames-Powe, 37, of Bangor

Police also searched a Bangor motel room, from which the trafficking allegedly occurred. Seized Tuesday night were approximately 900 grams (2 pounds) of crack cocaine, 250 grams of suspected fentanyl, 55 grams of powdered cocaine, as well as a loaded 40-cailber semi-automatic handgun, and $3,000 in cash suspected to be drug proceeds. Officials say the street value of the drugs was in excess of $100,000.

Terry, Kennedy, and Stokes were all taken to the Kennebec County Jail, while Eames-Powe was transported to the Hancock County Jail. Terry and Kennedy were being held on $100,000 cash bail. Stokes' bail was set at $25,000 cash, and there was no bail set for Eames-Powe, as she was already out on bail at the time of her arrest on these charges. MDEA officials say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are possible.
