The Phoenix is a nonprofit that is dedicated to building a sober active community of people striving to live their most vibrant lives in recovery.

And they will host an event this Sunday, April 24 at CrossFit Bangor at 130 Perry Road, beginning at 1 p.m. Community Fitness Sunday is free to everyone with 48 hours of sobriety.

The Phoenix’s mission is to build a sober active community that fuels resilience and harnesses the transformational power of connection so that together we rise, recover, and live.

They operate in 36 states across America, including locations in Maine.

Individuals in recovery have ample opportunities to enjoy life in Maine, which has made the state a fantastic place for their active sober community.

Whether you are just starting down the path to recovery or supporting someone in their recovery journey, or you’ve been sober for a long time, The Phoenix members and staff not only understand what you are going through, but are there to give you the support to rise above substance use disorder.

They just ask that you take the first step through their doors, and the cost of membership is 48 hours of continuous sobriety.

They’ve got your back. And promise to treat you and all with respect and understanding.

Even if you’ve never run a mile or picked up a barbell, you’re invited to see what they are all about this Sunday at 1 p.m. at CrossFit Bangor. If not you, maybe you know someone you can reach out to and tell them about the event.
