Brewer Police Arrest Man after an Armed Robbery on Wilson Street
Brewer Police say a local transient is facing charges after an armed robbery of a woman at a busy Wilson Street intersection.
According to Brewer Public Safety Director Jason Moffitt, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery just before 11:00 Friday morning. When they arrived, they found a woman who said that she had been robbed at knifepoint in a parking lot at the corner of Wilson Street and South Main Street. She told them the man who robbed her had fled on foot with some stolen property. The victim was not hurt in the incident.
A Bangor Police K-9 unit assisted in the initial search but couldn't immediately find the suspect. The investigation continued, leading Brewer Police to an apartment building at 164 Wilson Street. It was there that Christopher Dorsey, a 33-year-old transient, was taken into custody on an unrelated arrest warrant. He was transported to the Brewer Police Department where he was subsequently charged with robbery. Dorsey was then taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
Officials say stolen property has been recovered. This investigation is ongoing.
