The Maine State Police and Marine Patrol dive team have recovered the body of a woman who died when her fishing boat capsized in Biddeford Pool.

The woman was among four people who were fishing from a 21 foot boat when it was capsized by a wave at around 10:30 Sunday morning. Three of the people were rescued by a good samaritan, after being alerted to their plight when one of the occupants fired a handgun as a distress call.

When it was determined that the woman was missing, a search was launched in the area around the boat. Involved in the search were the Maine Marine Patrol, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Scarborough Fire Department, the Biddeford Pool Police Department, and the Saco Fire Department. Several private citizens also helped in the search The woman's body was finally located at around 2:30 in the afternoon.

Officials say no one on the boat was wearing a life jacket. Names of the deceased and the survivors are being withheld until their families are notified.
