The runway at Bangor International Airport was shut down for a while yesterday, after a plane lost its landing gear.

Airport officials told WVII-TV that the plane landed normally. But once it was on the ground, the landing gear collapsed, causing the plane to nose down, and the propellor to hit the ground. The plane had departed from the airport in Old Town at around 2:07 p.m. and arrived at its home airport in Bangor about 6 minutes later.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and the crash remains under investigation.
