Bar Harbor Murder Suspect Held Without Bail
A man accused of killing a Bar Harbor teenager will remain in jail until his trial.
Jalique Keene, age 21, made his first court appearance this morning and WABI-TV reports was ordered held without bail at Hancock County Jail. Keene is facing a murder charge for the death of 19-year-old Makaela Conley of Bar Harbor. Her body was found by a police K9 on Saturday in Bar Harbor, in a wooded area near the intersection of Route 3 and West Street.
Conley was reported missing Friday by her family. So far, police haven't disclosed how she died or whether there was any connection between Conley and Keene. The two were Facebook friends and had gone to school together in MDI.
Keene played football at MDI High School from 2010 to 2014. Conley worked at a local bakery and for her family, which owns the 2 Cats Inn and Restaurant in Bar Harbor.
