Bangor Woman Arrested at Union St Home with History of Violence

A Bangor woman is facing drug trafficking charges after a search of her home, which has been the scene of two instances of violence.

Brenda Shaboski, 65, was arrested Wednesday morning at her home, 1702 Union Street in Bangor. According to the BDN, drug agents seized fentanyl and crack cocaine during a search of the residence, prompting charges of maintaining a drug-involved premises and distribution of fentanyl. Police say Shaboski was allegedly selling drugs to support her own habit. In addition, she allegedly allowed other people with drug habits to stay at her home.

The house is well-known to police, after two recent instances of violence. In December of 2020, Bangor Police were called to the Union Street home for a report of an injured, possibly unconscious male. When they arrived, they found that 28-year-old Syies Adams of Brooklyn, New York was dead. The State Medical Examiner declared the death a homicide. So far, no one has been arrested for his murder.

In June of 2019, police responded to the same house for a report of gunfire and a wounded man. When they arrived, they found a man with a non-life threatening wound to his leg. Police tracked suspect Albe Lagasse, 51, to an address on Everett Street and discovered he had a gunshot wound to his face. Bangor Police said the two men were arguing over a woman, when Lagasse produced a firearm and shot the other man in the leg. That prompted the other man to return fire, striking Lagasse in the face.

Lagasse pleaded guilty in court and was sentenced to 18 years, with all but 7 suspended.

Shaboski has not been charged for either incident.
