
Bangor, Maine Man Finds a Strange Woman Sleeping in His Bed
A woman is facing charges after 2 incidents, including allegedly entering a stranger's house in Bangor and falling asleep in their bed.
Levant, Maine Woman Found Sleeping in a Stranger's Bed in Bangor
Bangor Police say Darcelle Howard, 55, of Levant, is charged with criminal trespass and violation of conditions of release, for the first of two incidents.

It was approximately 7:12 a.m. on August 20, 2026, when a Union Street resident reported that he had returned home from work and found a woman sleeping in his bed.
Police interviewed the homeowner, who said he had left his residence unlocked when he went to work and, apparently, Ms. Howard had entered the residence while he was away and climbed into bed.

Later that day, Officer Bowie received information from a property manager who recognized Howard's booking photo from the Penobscot County Jail's website as potentially someone who had entered their property.

The property manager had submitted an online report of a woman who had entered a building, where she was not a resident, on August 11th.
The woman defecated on a rug in the entryway and had taken some clothing from a resident.
Levant, Maine Woman Accused of Trespassing 2 Bangor Homes Faces Charges
As a result of this investigation Howard was also charged with:
- Burglary
- Criminal mischief
- Theft by unauthorized taking
- Violation of conditions of release
Howard is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
