How Were Police Alerted to the Child's Injuries?

The child was examined at a local hospital on Sunday morning with life-threatening injuries. Hospital officials notified the Bangor Police Department and the Department of Health and Human Services of the incident, which prompted the response of detectives and caseworkers to investigate.

What Do We Know About the Child?

Sadly, despite the best measures taken by the hospital, the child succumbed to the injuries during the night of February 18th. The name and age of the child has not been released.
