Bangor Police Arrest Second Suspect In Thefts From Car Dealerships
Bangor Police have arrested a second man in connection with a string of car thefts from local dealerships.
30-year-old Todd Whitman of Bangor was arrested on Tuesday and charged with Theft by Unauthorized Taking, Receiving Stolen Property, and 2 counts of Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. He's being held at Penobscot County Jail along with the first suspect in the case, 27-year-old Cody Fairless. Bail for both men has been set at $10,000 cash.
Both men are suspects in a string of five motor vehicle thefts at two Bangor car dealerships over the summer. Police believe the vehicles may have been used in commercial building burglaries, which were under investigation by the sheriff's office.
Police continue to investigate. At last report, detectives were looking into similar car thefts in 2015 to see if they're related.
