A Bangor man has been arrested in connection with a string of vehicle burglaries.

Matthew Wiley, 34, was arrested Friday at approximately 4:30 p.m. near the Rite Aid at Third and Union Streets in Bangor, Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton said in a news release.

He was charged with three counts of burglary to a motor vehicle (Class C), one count of burglary to a motor vehicle (Class B) and violation of bail conditions (Class E).

He was being held Friday night in the Penobscot County Jail.

Cotton said residents should remove their valuables and lock the doors after exiting their vehicle.
