
Bangor, Maine Man Allegedly Beat His Partner at Camp Hope
Bangor Police say a woman called 911, claiming her partner was allegedly beating her in a vehicle at that moment.
Officials Say The 911 Call Came in Early Tuesday Morning
Christopher Glidden, 31, of Bangor, was arrested at 39 Cleveland Street on March 25th.
Police first became aware of the situation when the victim called 911 while the alleged assault was happening. Bangor Police Officers Brian Higgins and Ryan Brochu responded to Maine Avenue shortly after 6:00 Tuesday morning and began searching the area for the victim.
Bangor Police Found the Suspect and Victim in a Car Near Camp Hope
They finally determined that the victim was calling from a car parked at the site of the unhoused encampment on Cleveland Avenue, commonly called 'Camp Hope.' The victim, Glidden, and the vehicle were found moments later.
After speaking to the victim, suspect, and a witness, Glidden was taken into custody and charged with:
- Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault
- Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening
- Criminal Mischief
- Violating Conditions of Release
Christopher Glidden is being held at the Penobscot County Jail.
